Course Description: This course covers the use of interactive multimedia for instruction. Topics addressed include the use of scanners, digital cameras, CDs, presentation software, presentation equipment, evaluation of K-12 multimedia software, and research of multimedia projects in K-12 classrooms.

Purpose: Within the model of the teacher as developing professional, this class will fulfill the requirements of specialty knowledge and professional knowledge in the area of multimedia education in the classroom. The teacher as a cognitive mediator, communicator, researcher, manager, and evaluator will be considered in the content of this course.

Course Objectives:
1. Students will become familiar with multimedia terminology.
2. Students will evaluate and recommend K-12 multimedia programs.
3. Students will research the use of multimedia in K-12 classrooms.
4. Students will develop a multimedia project using scanned pictures, digital camera pictures, and music.
5. Students will present their multimedia project in class.

Course Requirements:
1. Attendance and participation in classroom discussions.
2. Completion of evaluations of K-12 multimedia programs.
3. Completion of research on the use of multimedia in K-12 classrooms.
4. Development and presentation of a multimedia project.
