Course
Description:
This course focuses on the integration of
technology into the school curriculum. It explorers educational and management
software, productivity tools, emerging technologies, instructional strategies,
and key issues and trends related to technology
in the teaching and learning environment.

•Completion of Telecommunication in Education
Textbook: Blogs,
Wikis, Podcasts, and Other Powerful WebTools for Classrooms by Will Richardson
Purpose:
Within the model of the teacher as developing
professional, this class will fulfill the requirements of specialty knowledge
and professional knowledge. The teacher as a cognitive mediator, communicator,
researcher, and evaluator will be considered in the content of this course.

1. Students will be able create an Intel unit of
study.
2. Students will be able to integrate activities
into the Intel unit that follow that state curriculum standards.
3. Students will be able to integrate technology
strands throughout the Intel unit.
4. Students will be able to integrate Internet
sites throughout the Intel Unit.
5. Students will be able to integrate blogs,
wikis, or podcasts within the Intel Unit.
6. Students will be able to integrate the
SmartBoard activities into the Intel Unit.
Communicator:
1. Students will report on technology research
in classroom discussions.
Researcher:
1. Students will research unit ideas on the Internet.
2. Students will research state standards on the
Internet.
3. Students will research teaching strategies on
the Internet.
4. Students will research teacher tools on the
Internet.
Evaluator:
1. Students will learn to use evaluate good and
safe K-12 web sites for the Intel Unit.

and by completion of each of the projects for each topic.
